To ensure that the rules within the For Sale forum are adhered to, all adverts will be manually approved before being made visible. Please post your thread as normal.

To be be approved, your advert MUST have the following information:

  • 1: Description : The more details the better; think what you would want to know if you were buying.
2: Preferred contact details : This speaks for itself, especially if you're not on the forum regularly.
3: Price : It is not sufficient to ask for offers, you must have an idea of what you would accept, so say so! Include P&P costs if appropriate.
4: Location : Essential if your items are for collection only, but advisable anyway as some people may want to collect if they're local.

NB: Links to Ebay, Autotrader, Pistonheads and other such auction and advertising sites can be included, providing that the above conditions are also met.

Cars being broken for spares must have a few prices of parts at least to be approved. "Call for prices" isn't sufficient.

Only items that members personally own are eligible to be sold on ProjectPuma : no selling "for a friend", or trade sales without Trader status.

You should receive an automated e-mail to the address registered on here, to notify you whether or not you advert has been approved, within 24 hours. If, your advert is not approved, the e-mail will state the reason, or one of the admin team will contact you by PM.

If you do not receive any notification, please contact one of the admin team.

General Advice for Adverts

  • 1: Photos are optional, but could help in the sale. Guide in the FAQ: http://www.projectpuma.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5496" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
2: If you're selling a car, include everything that you would expect to read in an advert anywhere else: age, mileage, history, condition, extra features and such.
3: For things like alloy wheels, the size, offset, type and size of tyre, tread etc.

Interested in an item for sale?

Not everyone who posts items for sale may be a regular on the forum, so sometimes posting in the thread is not enough. If the seller has included contact details, please use them, or use the PM function available through the site.

General Rules

Please only comment on adverts if you might be interested in purchasing and wish clarification on any details, to discuss details of the specific item, to reply to sellers questions, or would like to make an offer. Remember these are adverts, not general discussion topics.

Unwontedly negative, or off-topic comments will be removed without warning.

Thread locking and deletions

Threads that have had no responses within the last month will be locked as they will presumed to be either sold, or no longer for sale. They will stay locked for a further month before being removed a holding area before being deleted.

If you find a thread that has been locked, but the item is still for sale, let any one of the admin team know, and it can be unlocked for you.

Disclaimer

Please remember that all sales transactions are conducted at your own risk, and it is your own personal responsibility to check the validity of any seller or buyer. ProjectPuma cannot and will not mediate in any disputes.

Just a reminder to all that if you are not interested in buying a for sale item, not to post comments such as "It's not worth that, I paid £x for the same thing last year" etc.

It's up to the seller to decide a price.

Can all members please heed Dal's post above. Sale ads are not discussion forums unless you are interested in the item in question.

We'll start making for sale posts read only or locked on approval if it carries on.

;)

Just a quick bump - can all members please ensure that all the required information above is included in your sale advert. We've been getting a large number of incomplete adverts recently - to save the hassle of resubmitting a disapproved advert, make sure all the information is there first time round!
