Hi all,

I'm keenly trying to find an early type power steering pipe. It's the long piece that runs across the front of the radiator with four outlets. All I can find is the later loop type.

This is the early style that I need;

Obviously, it needs to be in good condition and not a leaky mess like mine.

Cheers,

Lee

I have a T reg puma which is destined to be broken, if the oil cooler is the same I'll let you know (car not at home, I'll see it tomorrow)
I've only seen the loop type on other breakers I've had, but I'll check for you anyway.
Stu..

Ian was my first port of call, but sadly doesn't have anything. He's only got the later loop type sadly. My other option is the scrappy's, but they're such a bunch of grim-faced sods I'd rather spend my money with a Puma-person!

can you find a part number? this looks a lot like the mk5 escort item. the Mk4 fiesta was also very similar indeed to the Puma and is also the right era..

Yep, pricey init!!

I had considered it, but the Puma's a massive money sponge at the moment! Flipping thing! It's getting like Trigger's broom...

96FB-3A212-CK Jun 97 to March 98

Only match in the catalogue is Fiesta August 95 to March 98 which gives you a bit more choice.

Escort part numbers are different. No doubt it won't be far away but probably more likely you'll find a Fiesta anyway.

Cheers Ian, I'll probably end up buying a new one. I'd trust buying one from you, but otherwise it's a lottery. I appreciate all the help and cross-checking from you all by the way. Means I can make a confident purchase one way or another.

I know the part is shockingly expensive for what it is, but you mus bear in mind a second hand one will probably be at least 15 years old.
At that sort of age it might well look fine (even from IanG [other respected breakers are available :)] ).
But be brittle with age and break while trying to fit it, sometimes you just need to bite the bullet...

Yup, I could catch bullets in my teeth as a circus act with my car. Better start selling off some stuff again... I have a laptop somewhere that is surplus and a kidney....

Hi!

I have the same power steering pipes.

I need a specific hose for changing the marked hose, or I can change it to any other hose that can buy from any store?
I can't find this hoses for sale only the power steering pipes like this: link

I am desperately after the 3A714B in this pic above for my mums car. It's a rubber hose with a male union/thread where it screws to the front PAS hard pipes, and turns into a hard pipe around the back of the engine bay and into the lower of the two unions on the PAS rack.
