I`m having trackday cold-turkey at the mo...

To ease the shakes I`ve just booked Mallory Park for the 21st May
I`ll be at The Three Sisters a week before on the 17th too..

Happy days

I know myself and some others aren't unfortunately making Mallory this month however I have noticed javelin are offering the full GT circuit openpit at Bedford for £149 on 15th June.

Only slight drawback is its on a Monday.

I've spoken to Al and Erol at FITP who are in and wondered who else would like to join us?

Currently 25 cars attending and 35 people so lots of room left, see below for attendees list

I would do that one but.... i'll be sunning myself on a beach in Mexico

Im looking to do my next one after Mallory in either August or early September. I'l be a t Trax as well this year so it would be rude not to do at least one session there!

Well I didn't pull my finger out for the 15th next week but circuit days are running the GT track on the 6th July (albeit a tenner more) its on a Monday so need to take the day off work but means I can easily grab a b&b close by on the Sun so all fresh for the day. Be good to have at least one person from here if anyone's interested?

After this I'm moving to the south east coast of Essex to a house so will have to see how finances go and likely have to put any future trackdays for the year on hold till I'm settled.

Hi Neil
You sound like you`re ready to rock
I`ve simple set the van up as a dayvan for Pembrey as I have to work the day before and it`s a 5 hour marathon to get there,
so it`ll be late when I get arrive.
At least I can wake up and sign on

I`ve looked at Bedford. It looks really wide and fast
It would suit a supercar down to the ground.
Let us know how the Puma copes..

Thanks bud.

There's a few things I like to sort first with the car and ideally some welding. I'll defo get the hd camera setup too. At bedford (as it is so wide and tons of safe runoff) I'm hoping to get to grips with trail braking and heel and toe, two techniques I'm still fairly inexperienced with. I gave the gearbox a right thumping at Rockingham forcing engine braking and I can't keep on like that.

There are tons of twisty bits so should be fun plus a long straight where I should get close to maxing out the top speed (never been over 110mph tbh)

PS I stupidly booked the b&b for the day of the event rather than the day before and had to pay another fiver to change it.. duh!

Really excited about it, just did a quick search of vids on youtube of the circuit and first one I clicked was the link below (interesting intro) my eyes can barely keep up.

He seemed to be going fairly quickly mate! Although he didn't seem to catch any of the Puma's out on track! (although that may have been because there were no Pumas out on track!!

Will I ever have an event free trackday?

I had my first spin since last August at Rockingham (and it was a good un)
Here`s a short vid which gives a feel for Pembrey (which is a very technical track)
And shows you why you check your air pressures through the day (16psi in osf!)

Thats not actually the `event` I was referring to.
My never ending gearbox gremlin decided to jam in 4th gear
at about 3:30pm

Four o`clock is my groups `race` where we all go out together and see who`s at the front after 20 mins
(black flag means you`re out. So no obvious racing/stupid driving or its game over)
we call it the `fun cup` only 2 cars left this time, mine and a decat V6 mk1 mondeo on 888`s

Anyhow, guess who went out against a 170+bhp 1.3 ton car on 888s

In a Puma with one gear, on road tyres..

and won!

This is another vid of from very quick seven following me for a good few laps
I was even pulling away from him at certain points on the track.
I`m on from 2:00 mins to about 8:00 mins (in his mirrors lol)

I must get out again with the new frp....with its 220 bhp and smooth handling and great brakes and just about 1 ton in weight she should move quite quickly I would think...

A little morning run of the GT circuit yesterday with passenger and full tank, best lap time was 3:29, not too shabby (given the extra chicane after palmer curves and not giving the brakes hell) and improved throughout the day, max speed on back straight 116mph on gps. There was some serious machinery running including radicals, M4, Nissan GTR, Vantage, 2 Atoms ect.

Wacked some tunes on to cover the constant chatting and had to flip the video 180 if you're wondering why the times backwards.

That is a HUGE track,
I can see why the supercars suit it so well.

I`m booked onto the Javelin Sprintday at Cadwell on 30th August..
