I know, unfortunately Lightning motorsport still haven't finished building my engine, 3 months now and counting! I have been assured it shouldn't be much longer, I'm told all the machining work is done...

little update from Lightning motorsport HQ today

Niceeeey!

I have, like, 100 questions!

What is the ID of the bores? What pistons are you using?

What piston rings?

I have been meaning to do that; if the liners are steel, you can use whatever rings you like as you don't have the trouble of matching nikasil.....

Looks really nice, a credit to your car!

Haha, bore is original spec, Pistons are low compression ones by wossner, rings are the standard ones that come with the pistons

Wossner now list the Pistons for both high and low compression applications, the bearings are a HD version from Lightning Motorsport, the rods are also from LM and are also forged :)

couple of updates, got some new pics from Lightning Mortorsport HQ, engine build is underway!

ive also made some good progress on fitting my digidash too, spent a whole day soldering wires and heatshrinking those connections, testing wires and fiddling about with settings with the laptop, got a little more tinkering to do with it and il post up pics/vids :)

I can see your logic, they are actually low compression Pistons, it's hard to see in the picture but there is a pocket that covers most of the surface that lowers the compression, the edges close the gap against the cylinder head that's why it has the deep valve cut outs, the high compression version has no pocket

There is a mountain of things to do before it's running, expect lots of pics, updates and bloody knuckles!!

I imagine there is... but, at least your at the stage where big things are starting to happen now. This is the exciting part!

It's a special heavy duty one from Lightning Motorsport, the wheel I think may be from a Mitsubishi evo and its bracket is machined by LMS
