Hello,
I have a Fiesta mk5 with a 1.7 puma engine. Recently rebuilt it with newman cams ph2, removed unnecessary wiring and such. I have FRP map installed and engine is set with frp timing (checked several times). Car runs great, but some weird behavior under 2000 rpm (idle is fine). Low speed driving is pretty much impossible, it starts to surge really violently back and forth, it feels very weird under 2000 rpm (after that it runs fine). I have checked vacuum leaks, tps sensor, intake gasket, iac valve etc.. There is no fault codes. I have also changed spark plugs, spark plugs leads and coilpack. This issue seems to be worse when cold, but still present when warm. Sometimes it's not really noticeable and other times undriveable. I have no idea so far, but will continue to look into.
