If your looking at selling the mx-5 then give me a shout. I'm after one as a side project and to cut the miles down on my puma.
As for getting another puma, prices are pretty low at the moment so you should be able to pick up something decent for under 1k.
Lol reminds me of a millenium that was for sale on ebay the other day. The owner was pretty adamant that the millenium edition was the only puma model to have the 1.7 engine fitted.
Done a bit of digging on the net and that's the answer I was hoping for. Thanks for that. Was starting to worry as per usual.
Not a huge issue as its being treated to some new plugs, oil, filters, a bloody good clean under the bonnet plus some weitecs and poly bushes lol happy days.
To cut a long story short. I have some old oil pooled around the spark plugs from my old rocker cover leak (i was going to clean this up but decided to wait untill i service the car this weekend) anyway I was running the engine without the plastic cover on to check the new rocker seal and I...
Got mine and they've been on a couple weeks now, very happy with them and a bargain aswell. I found the old ones didn't want to come off in a hurry so used brute force, luckily they came off before I damaged anything lol.
If your describing what I think you are then I may be able to help. This is where the glass pops out at the top of the door, I had the same proplem on my Eg civic which seems to have the same curved glass and rubber seal setup that the puma has. It seems to be caused by the rubber seal at the...
Just re read your post, if its a standard backbox and midsection your after then I'm not much use to you. As I've not had many dealings with standard replacement parts from differing company's.
From what I've seen on here Sportex do a mild steel option that's pretty reasonably priced, you can find it on ebay and its a "race tube" plus backbox. On the other end of the scale price is a miltek system which I believe is stainless and can be found on the pumaspeed website.

Scubasteve is spot on as per usual, my old xr2i used to do it, my pumas old gearbox also did this and the new gearbox does it a little but not as much. Ive decided to live with it.
I'm running the 280mm mk2 mondeo's with prop alloys and they are a pretty snug fit. Cost me £30 for the calipers, and the pads and discs were pretty cheap off ebay. Hardest bit of the conversion was getting the old calipers off as the bolts were rounded off and rusted solid.
I'm at 126k, no engine work yet apart from the usual servicing/cambelt changes and a new rocker gasket. Don't know how many more years it will go for but it still pulls well, is pretty quiet and generaly behaves itself. Touch wood lol
I'm gonna suggest better tyres on the back. I wished I had put better tyres on the back of the car when I had bought it. It came with two decent tyres on the front and some budgets on the rear which I kept with untill I lost the back end on damp morning and smashed my car up.
