Engine Servicing for your PUMA. Cambelt, seals, etc

Hello Loganberry. Service 1 and 2 came just short of £1200. This included engine cleaning and painting. I did, however, supply Chris with Ford cambelt kit and water pump. Took about 3 months - not a problem for me but I suspect Chris could do it quicker. Best check His website above.

    Wet footwell, soaking

Hello. I had this problem on the drivers side. I drove the car without carpet (helped dry out) to see where the water was coming from. It came from the corner of the scuttle right up inside the footwell. Poking the area with a screwdriver I then loaded it with silicone sealant and let it dry -...

    Heater fan broken?

The fan can be removed from the scuttle. During my engine bay restoration I took out the pollen filter under which the fan sits. I fitted a replacement fan because the original was noisy. And guess what - it’s worse!! Got to do it again. Getting the pollen filter out means taking off the...

    Handbrake cable retention

I bought a set of handbrake cable p clips from Arnold Clark. They are the correct Ford type and fit over the pins (assuming the pins are still there of course) on the chassis rails and along the trailing arm.No drilling required. Try the link below. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254062525885

Engine Servicing for your PUMA. Cambelt, seals, etc

Chris did a stage 2 and gearbox work on my 1.7. I also bought his 4 branch manifold and custom exhaust. Not cheap but the car is being fully restored (yes I know it’s not worth it) as a retirement project. The car belonged to my daughter so has sentimental value! Anyway, I got the car started...

    Puma Thunder

Hello Steve If you want to compare the cost of restoration against value then the outcome is to scrap the car. However, as an old man in a shed (lock up garage) the restoration of my daughter’s ex 1999 1.7 has become a hobby, learning experience and labour of ??? I am fortunate in that the Puma...

Possible panel reproduction by expressed steel

I donated a full shell to Expressed Steel last year. Hopefully they will be able to supply the inner panels for repairing those hard to reach areas.

    A Heavy Subject.

I shipped engine and gearbox from Newcastle to Nottingham for £66 including VAT. Same cost coming back. Hope this helps.

Endangered species - How many left figures out

There may yet be hope. I gave Expressed Steel a body shell I had stripped last year. Probably so busy they have not been able to get around to it.

The £1300 MOT, can any one beat that.

My T reg 1.7 is off the road for restoration. Rust has eaten away the bottom of the inner sill so the outer sills (from Expressed Steel) will have to wait. The Puma is a classic in waiting but it is unlikely I will see that so my family have been told to hang onto it until it does. You can...
