How to remove the steering wheel

Thread resurrection but thank you for this mate swapped my wheel over today for a second hand Momo one using a boss from DT. Have to say the only pig was trying to get the airbag plug out of the clock spring as it refused to budge; looked like it should but without it coming out it wouldn't have...

    AIRBAG LIGHT/BULB REMOVAL??????.

This does indeed work but recommend you do solder the capacitor in rather than using any connectors as the capacitor legs are so thin they just disconnect. Happily sailed through the MOT :)

Thunder Leather Front and Rear Seats plus parcel shelf and boot carpet

Front and rear seats from a 2002 Puma Thunder. Driver's side has a few wear marks on the right bolster but no rips or tears and should clean up fine. Rear seats have a couple of dimples in the material where they were stored (visible in pics) but sitting on em should get rid of that. Also have...

    Thunder Track Car

I'm moving house soon, so in order to try and make some progress on the car before all my money gets spent on the new house, I've dropped a few quid on the Puma in the last few months before I take it to Bedford next month. Having initially sorted out the bushes and alignment, I switched my...

    Bucket Seat Fitting question

Thanks mate, thought I'd post up to say cheers, and I found a local guy who welded a bar with captive nuts welded and the bar went in between the sill and centre tunnel, and bolted direct to the floor on the other end with spacers. Works well, and he also welded in a harness / strut bar in the...

    Brake upgrade

Yeah I swapped from 260mm discs to ST150 calipers and discs a few weeks back. Easy conversion goes straight on, no issues at all and very positive pedal feel with braided hoses and better fluid. The biggest pig was getting the old hose retaining clips out!

    Front brake options

Bit late in the day, but my Puma is a 2002 with the later 260mm discs. We did a track day at Combe in driving rain on them and they held up admirably, but I still always like to have the best stoppers I can, so I swapped a few weeks ago to Fiesta ST150 calipers, 280mm discs and Pagid pads, with...

Coilover Buying Advice + Best Source

Funnily enough I gave that company a buzz, but the prices weren't too competitive for the adjustable ride height version so decided to stick with the AP's. This decision was reinforced when I initially decided to go with the ST shocks and matched springs kit only to find that they, FK, and...

Coilover Buying Advice + Best Source

So it turns out that FK Silverline aren't made for Puma anymore. Waiting on a price for Weitec GT's from their U.K. Distributor, and also info on whether there are any recon Koni's in the U.K. If the price for the GT's is horrendous and there's no Koni alternative I'll be going AP's. See no...

Coilover Buying Advice + Best Source

However low you want, just buy a decent set of coilovers and wind them right down, but handling and ride will suffer if you go too OTT.

Coilover Buying Advice + Best Source

Thanks guys. Someone else also suggested I consider Koni Sport shocks with lowering springs, which seem like a good alternative with potentially less maintenance required than coilovers. Just trying to price it up now...

    New puma track day project

People on here and the FB owners groups often seem to complain that Floflex perish within a year or two due to the cheap materials so I didn't go that route, but I did replace both front lower arms with genuine Ford ones (include new bushes already pressed in) as 2 bushes had completely perished...

Fitting 6 point harness with standard seat?

I'd just get a bar welded in and get a better seat mate. You sit much lower as a result and in turn that gives you more confidence and feel to the car. I had a length of roll cage welded between the two rear struts which doubles as the harness bar, then 4 point harnesses - the side ones can bolt...
