SOLD 2001 Moondust Silver 1.7 - Spares or Repair

Reduced to £250. Really want to go to a good home. If it doesn't shift soon it will be off to the breakers yard which would be a shame. Sadly after 6 fantastic years as a daily driver we have to let our Puma go to a good home (Y587NRD). Good Points - MOT until mid August. Cambelt last done...

    Week From Hell

As a daily driver the Puma has been perfect for 6 years. Things have gone wrong but usually fixed at MOT time or can be scheduled. 2 weeks ago a loud whirring began on a Friday. Dropped into trusted garage on the way home who diagnosed water pump and it was booked in for Monday last week, took...

    Puma Body Panels

OK, so you can get sills from more than 1 supplier these days but still no sign of front wings. We spent a lot on our Puma this MOT to get a lot of the underside welded - some pointed out by the MOT, other areas were a defensive move before things get bad. Rear arch replacements are holding up...

    Silver Driver's Wing

Hi, Looking for a driver's wing in moondust silver. Ours is starting to look a bit ropey and there seems to be no other option yet. Thanks.

    £500 pound mot

Sounds about right. We've had an MOT that was similar a couple of years ago and then 2 since where nothing has needed doing..... Depends how much you want to drive a Puma.

Puma specialists in South Yorkshire/North Derbyshire

Pumaspeed in Wakefield look after Pumas. I tend to use a local enthusiastic Indy garage for most work though.

    New wheel arch panels.....

To be fair (and my personal view), the ones I ordered from him 3 years ago took an age to arrive. The bodyshop were ok fitting them and they still look good today.... His other products didn't get good reviews.

    New wheel arch panels.....

Now if only they would start doing front wings. When I contacted them they said they might possibly one day......

    Starting Problems

You think a Puma is bad, try an RX8. They flood if stop started when cold and it's either a 15 min job to start it or AA / dealer recovery ........ And that's a newer design.

    Puma replacement..harder than you think.

Future proofing a Puma has to be the way to go - such as getting replacement or improved parts that fit. The best we have come up with as a replacement is a Panda 100hp but after spending a lot on welding the Puma it's here to stay....... After nearly 4 years with us it's never broken down or...

    Expansion tank coolant hose

Hi, The bottom expansion tank hose was worn through against the alternator pulley. I've made a temp repair but should replace it. Is it unique to the Puma? Thanks.

    Replacement front wings - options?

Hi, One year after all rust removed and now the front wings are stating to rust in what seems to be the usual places. What options do we have - renovate/used/pattern/genuine? Thanks.

YOUR INPUT REQUIRED: Complete sills, Arches, FRP Bodykits, Standard Puma Replica Panels all potentially available

Are new standard front wings available from anywhere at a reasonable price?

    Puma's getting rare

I was in my front garden washing the cars (at the top of a secluded cul-de-sac) this morning when an oldish Escort turned round and then pulled up. The Puma is looking pretty good at the moment after a light exterior restoration and rust removal  A young chap got out and asked if the Puma...

Circular carpet 'hatch' for Passenger footwell

Hi, Now the restoration is complete I noticed we are missing a small circular carpet hatch from the passenger footwell. As a last resort I have a mat I can cut but I would prefer the proper item if anyone has one spare. Thanks.

    Puma Virgin

Watch oil and coolant like a hawk for a while to get used to how much is being used as it does seem to vary. Once you have confidence that everything is OK they do seem to be a remarkably low fuss car to run....... Our newer main car seems to have more issues :?

    Fixing up my first puma

If its the same problem then I fixed a trapped door seal by using a thin piece of plastic sheet (cut from ice cream tub lid) to pull the seal to the right place with the window shut and then protect the glass while heating the seal with a hair drier (borrowed)

Keep or move on, that is the question?

Bear in mind that in the next couple of years Pumas will be getting rare and harder to get hold of if you regret getting rid. How do I know? I used to have a Cinquecento Sporting that I got off eBay when there were loads to choose from (about 3 years ago) On eBay today? Just 1. The graph on...
