Skippy kitten needs new home - Coventry

Time has come to move on. I've learned a lot from the car and from everyone on here. So it's time to sell my little cat. Coming up for 114000 miles. Looking for £395. Collection from Coventry area. The good: MOT until end of November 2016. 4 Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres with about...

The worst looking car currently on sale?

Prius is pretty bad. Unfortunately I've driven a Cactus. They're very popular with hire car companies (because of the ding proofing I assume). The one I had had an appalling engine, gearbox, steering and brakes. Otherwise it was ok, apart from the seats, controls and infotainment system...

    The Skippy Kitten

I think the time has come to move on... I've learned a lot about cars and swearing. As good as it is mechanically I think the work needed on the chassis is going to be too much for me to consider before long. Now I'm looking for something to preserve as occasional daily and future classic...

Ah, not been on for a while so just noticed this. I get the impression that air locks are easy to acquire but also easy to sort. The heater control valve and the cabin heater panel are not the most reliable of things of course, but typically you'll be stuck very hot or cold if one of those goes.

    The Skippy Kitten

Running sweet for the moment! I'm getting to enjoy the new front shocks ;) After borrowing it, the missus has 'suggested' that I Don't sell it because it's "bloody fantastic to drive". :D

    Coolant leak!

As Barry said, the thermostat housing is a likely source. Mine was 'dribbling' unless it got hot, then it would trickle out. It looks like there's a common failure mode. It's hard to locate as its below and behind the alternator. There's a 'how to' on here that covers what to do. A new...

    The £650 Puma

That's quite a list. Good luck with that.

    The Skippy Kitten

Likely was the wrong word. There's a definite failure mode, so there's a likelihood that it will fail catastrophically at some point. And it is such a swine to do! Given that, it won't have been done before unless the original failed at some point. I would change the accessory belt at the...

    The Skippy Kitten

2 identical failures suggests it's is quite likely.

    The Skippy Kitten

Thanks. I'm not sure comedy is the word I would use for working on a Puma thermostat!
