    FRP powered rolling project.

Time to let someone else have some fun. Looking for £2000 for a unique Puma. First the good stuff. FRP powered by #0336, complete with matched LSD gearbox. Cam belt just done with water pump, new coil pack and HT leads. New wishbones, trackrods and ends. Replaced within the last 40k, all...

    FRP exhaust?

Wonder if anyone can tell me if FRPs have catalytic converters in the standard exhaust system. I know they do not have one in the manifold area, so where is it?

    ABS/TC

Been on a rebuild mission, nearly ready for MOT but I have the ABS and TC lights on. As the lights stay on I understand this means the system is not active. Unfortunately as the car had been run on 18" rims which had rubbed completely through a sensor wire prior to purchase so I do not know if...

    Rear disc advice needed

Need to know a few things, Can I just splice the ABS sensors from a Focus set up into the Puma loom or do they run a different resistance? Anybody recommend suitable hoses, thought Puma fronts might do the job? Finally the handbrake cable has cone nipples rather than barrels, was going to slot a...

    Rear disc part numbers

Been trying to sort some discs for the back, purely for looks (before the comments about it not being nescessary) and it appears the FRP ones were lifted from Mk1 Focus. Anybody know the Finis codes for the parts? Cheers.

    Eibach springs

Anybody know the Eibach part number of the -30mm Ford option springs? Seeing as I did not need a compression tool to remove them I am guessing that is what I have, already seen the theoretical hub centre to arch dimensions but won't be fitting for a couple of weeks. Also if I have the "option"...

    Clutches and Flywheels

I am after some information from those that know. Done plenty of searching and reading about various clutch options, OE, organic, focus, ST etc and think I will go for the focus 1.8 16v option as lighter but bigger friction surface sounds good, however none of the posts I have read mention...

    Puma Plus

This is the second go at this as my original plans got scuppered when the insurance companies decided not to repair my old Puma. The main trouble I had was not being able to do any more than a weekends work at any one time. Solved that by buying a car for the Mrs to drive once she passes her...

    Half price oil

Don't know if it is a national promotion but my local Tesco is doing Castrol Magnatec 5W30, (Ford approved A1) for £8.50 for 2 litres reduced from over £17.

    Is it legal?

I know we have a few folks who are in the know, so would it be legal to use a sticker type number plate on the bonnet? The way a standard front plate hangs in the front makes the car look buck toothed and it's just asking for grief to fit an illegal skinny one.

    Crankshaft Endfloat.

By the book (3397) 0.22mm to 0.43mm. I have a seriously stripped car right now, clutch was going so had to be done, and generally checking everything as I go. Did a pretty primative check by pushing the flywheel in, measuring with a vernier caliper then pulling and measuring again. Quick bit of...

    Back again.

I'm happy again, got me another Puma. V***HHJ, anybody guess the numbers (Zara). I know she had another owner inbetween, and was told she may still have the service books etc, please pm if you have any info, ta. You won't see it on the road for a couple of months though, needs a bit of TLC all...

    I've been bu**ered!

As the title suggests my poor kat has been hit up the back, hard enough for it to be an insurance job (new bumper please), and am waiting for Flux's people to ring me back. Just wondering how much damage can be done back there, still seems to drive/stop OK and boot floor does not look buckled...

    Nearly very embarrassed!

After a long time finally started a new job this week, only agency work but still. Was really peeved at first as its a 30mile round trip and petrol is bloody expensive, then realised that I get a good 5miles of national limit twisty B road each way, well happy now. Know I'm driving "properly" as...

    Image resizing before upload

Found a free (and so far spam and virus free) tool for resizing pics so I can actually post some in my album. Its called VSO Image Resize 4. Its nice and easy because you can resize whole folders of images in one go, with the option of keeping the originals too.

BAD: Bristol Street Motors" Masons Hill,Bromley

Been trying to get some hinges for a rear seat, with very little success, decided to bite the bullet and go to Bristol Street Motors. As per usual the guy at the parts counter is busy doing other things and not really interested in my requests, but pulls up a diagram and I can see the parts I...

    Engine warning light

Out on a shortish run today, only 6 miles or so, I notice the tickover is high, about 1200ish, no probs I think, just time to give the MAF a clean. Start up for the run home and the dreaded engine light stays on, not in a position to stop and check it properly so clenched my cheeks and eased my...
