Evening all,

I've replaced my steering wheel with an aftermarket sparco jobby, looks great and feels even better.

Does anyone have any idea how to wire in the horn? My steering boss came with two wires, with spade connectors on the end...

Also, any suggestions for deleting the airbag warning light without pulling the bulb?

Any help much appreciated.

Hi Euan

You can get a trick module which is effectively a resistor to plug into the airbag module to make it think there's still an airbag attached.

As for the horn, it should be as simple as connecting the original horn wires?

u might have to dig about under the circular copper contacts for the horn wires.

the momo steering boss comes with said resistor cos iv just bought one.....custom machining mine to have an old escort mk3 'ford motorsport' steering boss.....nearly done so keep an eye out!

I think Jacko is right about digging underneath the copper contacts.. I had a quick look at them and thought 'i think that's the answer' but never ventured any further.. i guess it'll be soldering iron time.

Is it just the case of bridging the pins of the yellow airbag connector?
Any idea where i could buy said module? or can anyone recommend a resistor size? Or, given that i've got a multimeter, could someone (warren! ) suggest how i could measure it?

cheers for the rapid replies!

would this be the sort of resistor i need?

I've just been advised how to measure the resistance. I'll give it a go and report back how i get on and what ohmage the resistance is to save people having to do them same.

Pics to follow.

remind me later & i will see if the value of the resistor is written on the side of it....

There isn't a problem from the steering wheel side, i just couldn't find the connector at the car side. I reckon they'll be underneath the copper contacts on the steering column housing...

I'll update with pictures when i've sorted it.
