I've managed to grab a set of what I thought were Thunder rims. I now know they came off a Fiesta and have an offset 43.5 (if Im reading it right).
Do you think this will affect the handling? They do give the car a whole new cleaner/meaner look though

10mm further into the middle of the car with that offset, decreasing the width of the wheel track.

Yes, it'll upset the handling a bit.

As above..
I like the multispoke wheel options (F1`s are my favourite)
It can be sorted with spacers, but 10mm spacers are not cheap.
I`d suggest finding some proper Puma wheels and cash those in..

Please excuse my ignorance, but why do I need spacers if the wheels turn okay?
I'm not really sure what this all means, would you mind explaining? I'd really appreciate you setting me straight.
Many thanks lads.

i have had a set of these on and they rub on full lock

offset is the distance of the outer rim from the centre hub, look at a mk2 escort on minilights it will have (at a guess) about 10mm offset if you put these (mk2 wheels) wheels on your puma (standard offset 35) you will increase the width of the track by 25mm each side and hence the car should grip and corner better - you are looking at 43mm offset loosing 8mm either side the result will probably result in lower max cornering speeds

Got ya. Many thanks for the explanation.
Will flog'em off or try a straight swap for Puma rims then. Bit of a shame though, they look the business and are in crackin nick.

The Thunder wheel is a cracker.
Ford used a similar design on a few of the millenium era `sporty` cars (Zetec-s, ST200, ST170 etc)
You`ll have no problem moving these on, but the Thunder wheel is a bit rarer and you may have to dig deep to exchange them..
