Hi there Scott.

Thanks. When it's finished deffo will have to look out for ya.

They are OZ superleggras.
For now I will say I got it for a good price. :p but there is a rebuilt one on ebay for £1500 at the moment.

How do u find the coilovers, strut braces and polyurethane bushes? As I only have Jamex lowering springs atm.

Cheers
Ben

Spot on, amazing on the track, did the coilovers first which was good (lowered about 40mm), then did the 3 struct bracers and full bushed up + Toyo T1R's and the difference was amazing !!!
Very hard ride on the cr*ppy Donny roads, sometimes it feels like its going to rip the wheels off !!!

Just need to find a decent garage that can sort out the ABS system as the lights are on. I've heard that there is garage just outside of Mexborough on the Manvers estate that is quality, one of the lads that works there comes trackday racing with us (he has an original mini with Honda Type R Engine).

I've pretty much got the handling & braking sorted, just need to look at making the car lighter and engine work next. Hopefully I should be taking it off the road soon, so will strip out the interior and remove the aircon.

You won't be able to miss me around Donny, just look for large rear blue mudflaps.

Have you seen the black Puma with the roof airvent and the Hiro Spoiler knocking about? Its is extremely fast, it seems to leave my 1700 standing. The reg plate ends in "EBC".

Off to look at e-bay, cheers Scott.

Ayup Scott

Cant help u on the ABS system problem but my lasses cousins husband has a unit in Balby and specialises in Cosworths and RS Turbos but can work on just about anything. He built a Zetec Turbo with 400+ bhp and put it in a Pink Escort cabriolet years ago and also built a 600bhp Escos amongst over things so he might be able to help.

I plan to fit the AP coilovers, the 3 OMP strut braces(seen on ebay) in red to match the car :) and fully polybush her up plus fit a Zetec S anti roll bar. I will start on that once she is up and running. I will be using Yoko Prada Spec2s. Have 2 ready to fit on the back of the car with amout 500mile use. Fitting to brand new 1s on the front.

I'm running the 300mm front setup but gonna fit uprated discs and the Mintex 1144 pads as quite a few people seem to use them and fit Goodridge braided hoses all round. Running brand new drums/shoes on rear which am gonna keep for now.

I'm keeping my interior as is. Standard looking apart from the front seats, they are RS2000 Escort seats which are more supportive but too the untrained eye look standard. The boost gauge is gonna be somehow mounted in the ashtray so can be hidden away whilst parked up and i'm gonna mount the boost controller out of sight. Also the rear strut brace will be hidden under the parcel shelf. As you can see i'm aiming for sleeper look. :) I have a dump valve for her but every1 knows that sound so am going for turbo chatter. lol

Not seen the black puma round Donny but if I do I will give him a run for his money. We'll have to organise a meet sometime.

I bet your mates Mini is rapid.

Cheers. Ben

Nice one, where abouts in Bably? have you got a phone number?

Liking the sound of the work you are doing, will be quality to see it all once its finished.

We should set up the South Yorkshire Project Puma Meets, our kid goes to Owston Lodge once a month for the RSOC meets, always a good pint.

The mini is amazing, once your Puma is completed you ought to join us at Cadwell, an evening meeting is only £79.

Cheers Scott

Hey Scott.

His Garage is on Carr Hill industrial estate opposite the Mercedes garage. Its a unit down there called HB Performance. Not got a number but will get one for you.

The Puma should be good once on the road. Aiming to get it done in 6 weeks. Only need the gearbox which i'm going for an RS Turbo LSD box, radiator and intercooler. Radiator will be an RST rad but want a fairly sizable intercooler so need to find out which I can fit without it being noticable. Then maybe some other bits and pieces once all thats fitted. Then fill the engine with some decent oil, add all new fluids, filters and Dot 5.1 brake fluid. Then take her to get a custom S/S exhaust made up from manifold back. Once done, tax her, get her mapped then see what she is like.

Once she is running and on the road will start on the suspension mods. I have other transport as the puma is my toy so can do bits to her and not have to worry about being without transport.

We should definately sort out South Yorkshire ProjectPuma meet. I could go to RSOC meets having an RST powered Puma. lol. I will definately join u at Cadwell but want to get the handling sorted before I take her on a track.

Cheers. Ben

Hello Ben,

Looking forward to seeing your completed car, based on your outcome I might do the same.
I could just do with 200bhp for the track.

I meet the black one again last night on the road from Finningley to Bawtry, it looks well and does seem to have more power than my standard 1700. I noticed he has stuck the Ford Racing Puma badge on the back.

Next time I catch up with him, I will try and get him to pull over for a quick chat.

Its also got the side skirts on it, very nice looking and fast Puma, will try and get a photo.

Yes we will have to sort out The South Yorkshire group.

Cheers
Scott

Hey all.

Its a standard Puma Red.

I'm looking forward to seeing the completed car too, and once its on the road i'll take u out in it so u can see whether the conversion is what u want in yours.

Deffo try and catch up with him and see if he is a member on here, plus see if he wants to meet up with a few of us if we organise the South Yorkshire meets, which we need to do.

I thought with all your handling and braking upgrades u might be able to catch him on the twisty stuff, unless he has done the same to his with more power. He might have the FRP upgrades but does that warrant putting on a FRP badge. To me, I dont think so

Oh, and I picked up my engine today. Mounting it next weekend.

Will start a project thread today. :)

Cheers. Ben
