I've just bought a Puma Black with just 30K miles. It has 12 Ford service stamps in the book and just one owner from new.

I owned a Melina Blue 1.7 way back in 1999. That was the first time I ever owned a brand new car. I loved that one then, and I love this one now.

In between I have owned a Merc AMG, Jag XKR, Focus RS, Lotus Esprit, Escort RS2000, Mondeo ST220, Mondeo ST24, Porsche 924, 944...

...and I still believe the Puma to be one of the most entertaining rides out there! The only car that beats it in handling and feedback was the Lotus (and maybe the RS2000 - if you're into a little over-steer fun). Many cars are more powerful - but cannot put a smile on your face like the Puma!.

This forum looks like a friendly place and so far it has proved to be very informative. There are a few mods I would like to do and there's loads of useful information here.

here's a pic of my Puma Black...

Welcome to Projectpuma, I agree with you about the Puma's handling and fun factor, it's like a go kart, I sold my Focus St170 to buy another puma as I missed my old one.
What mods are you thinking about doing?

Mods won't be anything major. On my first Puma I fitted Eibach springs, 17" alloys and a rear spoiler. With this one I will simply do some minor restoration to make it mint and possibly a set of 16" alloys (a little less harsh than 17" - I'm getting old). I will also upgrade the ICE, and get to work detailing. I do need to do the door mirror fix which I think I saw someone selling a kit for on here.

Hello and welcome to the site! Looks like a nice example you have there

Not sure whether the chap that did the wing mirror kits still does them, he doesn't frequent here since selling his Puma I doubt believe but worth a shot.

Else our resident parts person Ian G will likely have a spare assembly.

Wow,

That's a bit of a find, totally agree I have had a mix of cars since my original puma in 1999 including a lot more expensive cars, but none live up to the puma, that's why my plaything is an frp, but still get tempted by others

Welcome - we could be twins! I too purchased a new Melina blue puma in 1999 and last month bought a puma black, although mine is nowhere near as nice as yours it is also a 1 owner but with 58,000 miles. Just had cam belt and water pump changed and so ready to enjoy. I think I've had about 40 cars now myself and my daily drive is currently a BMW 120D M Sport convertible but will still look twice when I see a puma ;-)
