I don't know if this post will help...

HID upgrade is what I was looking into.

However I just bought today a set of H1 bulbs for a Jag at £13 that claim to be (upto) 120% better. When I changed 1 of 2 bulbs it did look a bit better. I still Think the HID upgrade is the way to go though. at £13 I gave these ones a shot.

H1 12V 55W
Megalight
Ultra + 120

I got them from Masterparts Ltd in Bellshill
Only reason I got them was I needed 1 bulb for MOT and saw these at the counter side and thought at £13 might as well give them a go.

The puma wont be H1 bulbs but same theory applies I think.

I tried a few different bulbs including 100 watt in all 4 front bulbs and still it was a bit pants, better than Fords ridiculously crap originals but still at night it was dangerous in my opinion.
HID is absolutely the way forward, i did mine and it wasn't particularly anything difficult. I went with 50W HID kitt from Ebay, there are many on there from vastly varying prices. I was a little unsure as with such price extremes i thought a cheap kit would be crap but the one i got came well presented, easy to fit and although a ballast didnt work from the start the company sent me 55W replacements very quickly and so far its been brilliant.
400% better light output claimed on pack and i have to say anything would be better than ford, its now safe to drive at night lol and also gives the front that bright crisp white light like new cars.

I used HIDS-Direct at £50
Ford Puma 97-01 50W 9005 HID Conversion Kit

The main problem is HIDs are illegal for use in cars originally fitted with halogens and can land you a fine and points on your licence

Oilburner like I've said in another post you have been on, HIDs and safe night driving with maybe a little messing about come MOT time or risk death with Fords ridiculously poor lights.
Why they have made aftermarket HID kits need headlight washers etc is ridiculous when you consider safety in poor light conditions.
I know my choice
