bloody oil dip stick lool

yestaday eve about 6.30ish i thought oh i am bored id check my oil level sit my self when its was only on the dip stick was the oil i thought crap i am running this dam thing with no oil first thing i did this moring

1 jump straght into a taxi to euro car parts got a 5 liter of oil thinking its that low it will need most of this

2 got back put a liter in id thought oh i check it and it was on the top line

now whats all that about it dont take much to go from one end to the other lol i was sressing last night over nothing i turned down loveing from the misses oh lol anys all is good but just would have thought that a ligt would have come on before it go to that stage

Most cars take a litre to top oil up from min to max mark hth

From memory it is half a litre or thereabouts from min to max, which is normal. There is a lot more in the engine but you never want to go below that. The light only comes on when it is so low it is detectable via pressure; by then the damage is done so you should be very pleased it didn't come on
