hi guys, I was just wandering, how easy or difficult it is to replace or repair inner and outer sills

is it a big job or does it require welding

thanks

Hi Mark
If you don't know yes it is a very big job requiring lots of welding. New outer sills are available from express panels but the inners will require fabricating.

Hi Mark
To do it properly quite a lot but if you can find a local garage that welds and just use sheet steel to fabricate repair panels (depending on how bad it is) maybe £200-£300.

Hi Rob
Didn't they tell us they were about to start manufacturing them about 3 months ago?
Barry
On the 20th August, they said they should be available in 15 weeks, which would be December.

They haven't said anything to me, not that this surprises me in the slightest.

how do you get in touch with this express panels

Do let us know if they've actually started making these now.

Hi Rob
The way they work is I don't think they stock anything but make it to order so they say it could be 3 months but in reality everything I've ordered for my sons Anglia has been delivered in less than two weeks. I wonder if all those people who said they wanted them in the first place have tried to order or given up now it's got to the money stage.

There's still plenty of interest on everyone except Mike's part, from where I'm sitting.

hi guys, I have just spoken with them, there approx. 7 months down line, they are going to send me an email with a list off parts they are on about fabricating, but this is not definite and will be further down the line.

I hope this helps rob and tuonokid

Oh that's not so good, I'll have to stop ordering Anglia panels oh and thanks for getting the update Mark.

yeah, was really hoping to turn it into a head turner too

no problem, anything to help you guys, just out of curiousity, do you have twin webber 45's on your Anglia and is it mk1 or mk2

Hi Mark
I think you're getting mixed up between Anglias and Escorts. There was only ever one Anglia produced from 1959 to 1967 whereas the Escort mk1 ran from 68 to 75 and the mk2 ran from 75 to 81. The rustbucket Anglia when it's finished will be running it's fire breathing 997cc and 39bhp through a teeny, tiny little single choke carb :)
Barry

Look forward to it, oh and I was wrong about the Anglia as well as they did one in the Pop shape and also in the sit up and beg one, I'd just forgot.
Barry

Yeah, it's an age thing, when I go to the supermarket now I write my credit card pin no on my wrist just in case I forget
