Difference in brake bias between puma models

Basically i reshelled my previous early puma (with small rear drums) into a new slightly later shell, and moved the rear beam across (it was pokybushed etc), moved the high spec 4pots over for the front

However, the brakes have never been as good in this shell. It makes me wonder if the bias is different in the revisions?

Any ideas?

The servos are different and its a fairly well spoken piece of internet hearsay that the older ones are better. Never driven them back to back personally but your experience does seem to agree with common consensus from those who have tried it.

I did start to wonder if something was mismatched in the transfer.
