So a quick update:
1) I completely forgot to take pictures! :roll:
2) Replacement driveshafts from Ian G have cured the horrendous vibration.
3) New drivebelt has removed the budgie from under the bonnet
4) Anti-roll bushes swapped on one side - what an Ar$e of a job! Got the drivers side off and discovered no wear, so aborted the passenger side.
5) Still have a knock but suspect its top mount. However, as they're new, I'm slightly perplexed...
6) Haven't fitted the wheels yet, but did mock one up to make sure I didn't need spigot rings.

Had no drain plug on the gearbox either. I do however, need to get some degreaser and a jet wash on the underside.
 
You can put a drain plug on the gearbox pretty easy. I did it on my other half's old SportKa. The moulding is still there but needs drilling out. I think I used a m12 bolt, 1.0mm thread and tapped accordingly. Worked a treat.

Gearbox is definitely not 'sealed for life' and the oil needs changing.
