extremely high idle after removing throttle body.

yesterday I switched to a mondeo 2.0 throttle body and the car was idling extremely high so I got another standard 1.7 puma throttle body this has made no difference.
I cleaned the throttle body with brake cleaner as it was absolutely covered in crap (ebay special)
I no it says don't do it but has anyone ever actually done it and had this problem?

forget what I said above as ive just read many people have cleaned the throttle body with no problems so it cant really be that. any ideas would be appreciated.

Sorted. Slightly sticking throttle cable.
