Fuel Gauge

Had to have an engine transplant on my Millie as the bottom ends went

Since then, when the fuel gauge gets to just below 1/4, it seems to get to empty rather quick. I 3/4 filled the tank for a journey to N Wales and it seemed to go down at a ''normal'' rate until it hit 1/4. Then it went down almost as quick as the speedo coming to a stop . . . .

Would this be a fault with the gauge itself or a more 'in depth' issue?

iv notice that with mine after the halfway point it goes down at normal rate
