When I was working on the car I wanted to tried to change the fuel filter and now the fuel sender pipe leaks fuel. I primed the fuel pump couple of times and it starts to piss fuel. I'm not sure what's going on. From when I remember the fuel sender pipe is meant to have a little bit of movement but now it can just slide off easily. I'm not sure if the pipe needs replacing or if the clip possibly but I'm not sure what to do on that front. (Example photo, not my car)

I broke the clip on mine, I cut the flange piece off the connector, leaving the rest of the connector in the plastic pipe to stop it being crushed and then used a short piece of E10 compatible fuel hose to connect the plastic pipe to the filter, secured with stainless steel fuel clips. I was a bit worried that it wouldn't work, but have done over 5K miles last year with no problems.
I haven't got the car here at the moment so can't take a photo.
