Does the 1.25 mk 4 fiesta 5 speed share the same gearbox gearings as the 1.7 puma?

Need a spare box for the race car and spare diff. My brother is going to scrap his mk4 fiesta and was wondering if they are the same, if so will pilfer it off him and then can lock the diff to give me better traction.

The 1.7 gear box is close ratio.

not close ratio as far as i know, just a stock ib5.

think the 1.25 has a lower final drive

It is close/closer ratio compared to the 1.25.

ah ok, thanks everyone, removed the gearboxes off both of the puma's Sunday and have locked their diff's and now to put the boxes back together and then to get them back in the cars and then we will see if we have screwed the boxes up haha.
