This is a bit late as I have already bought them, but what is the general opinion of these tyres?

I know a while back there were some production issues, but with the Continentals, Pirelli and Michelin that are generally worn on my car at £230 to £270 each I really couldn't resist 2 x Eagles for just £222 the pair, fitted and balanced.

Apparently rears only last about 5,000 miles anyway so it's a mistake soon remedied if they are useless.

Which one Rob? The asymmetric or the GSD3?

Reviews on both here:

The good thing about ^that^ site, is the reviewer tells you what car they are on. So you can compare FWD / RWD etc as required on a similar car.

Good by all accounts.

I had GSD3's on the front of my Mk3 2.5 Mondy, they made it pull to one side, so got stuck on the rear, having said that, 18" wheels, with 225 tyres were IMO a bit big for that car, I think they drove better on a 205 tyre, the 225 will have amplified any issues with tyres pulling.

Had them on my IS300, and they were great, I have them on the Puma, and really rate them, lots of confidence in the wet (lets hope that doesn't come back to bite me!), and not bad wear, I am just replacing my fronts (with GSD3's again) as the shoulders are a bit worn, but they have done around 16k and still have 3-4mm on them.

GSD3. 285/30/18

Having checked out the reviews I find they are discontinued in 'my' size. Hence the bargain price I guess.

Just as a help for future reference, maybe worth bookmarking this link to have a check when you next need tyres to see if they have any you need or fancy. Every penny counts as they say...lol :eek:k:

Duly bookmarked.

Nothing there in the correct size for my rears. I'll check the size of the fronts tomorrow, but they have a couple of thousand miles left at least

Thanks

I had some for my Focus and Puma (on same wheels). They were GSD3's 195/45/15 and were superb. Had them all round from new (£50 a tyre from camskill.co.uk) and i drove mostly conservatively so even when i sold them a month ago they still had 2-3mm tread all round. Plenty of grip in the wet and complimented the Puma beautifully i thought.

dont know which ones i had...very good...lasted 6 months!

No point me making a new thread but basically I'm looking at getting some new rubber on the front.

I've had a look at the data shown in the link above, does anyone else have any recommendations or thoughts?
