A few months ago I was driving back from Worcester in the evening when I noticed that the dashboard kept dimming briefly then returning to normal. To begin with I thought nothing of it and just ignored it. However, more recently when I have turned the headlights on the lights at the front of the car work fine (although the sidelights don't work) and the tail lights and dash illumination doesn't work at all! If I keep rapidly turning the switch on and off eventually they work but will often fail again and I have to turn them on and off again until they work.

I have tried replacing the fuse (although it was not broken) and poking around in the wiring a little and the only thing \i have noticed is that the one tail light needs a thump to work so there is probably a loose connection in there (although this has been like this for a while)

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Try this thread for a read:

Or this one:

I have no dash lights or parking lights, no tail lights, no lights around the heater controls,,,,changed all fuses, no joy,...

Or you could have sprayed WD40 in the twisty bit that turns the lights on - That happened to me and that cured it over a year ago

Sprayed with WD40 (had to go to B&Q for some more because I can't find any at home!) but it seems to have done the trick.

Thanks
