UPDATE 2:

So, I visited the other Puma today, and it was a completely different story!

The car has a few faults obviously, as it is 17 years old, but it has been cared for by it's owner, who bought it from new. Nothing serious seemed to pop out at us, the condition is better than average for it's age/milage. It has has a respray, but we could find no signs of damage caused by an accident, and the owner is willing to confirm in writing that is has never had an accident on the contract.

It has a full service history, all done by Ford, and seems to have been treated very well.

So, it looks like I found my puma I will be picking it up later this week.

It's silver, I'm not sure I will keep it silver, but plenty of time to decide.

I didn't take photos, but I will pick it up in the next couple of days and post photos then.
