How Much Oil left in engine after draining 1.7

After my last oil change I noticed that I struggled to put 4 litres of oil into my 1.7 litre engine. How much oil would you expect to stay in the engine after draining? Is this normal?

Didn’t say if you changed oil filter which I think holds about .5 L

Iirc it takes about 4.5l , so have you got the correct dipstick fitted?

Alternatively, when you drained out oil was the car level so you got all the old stuff out?

I have the correct dipstick and I drained the car on flat ground then on a slight slope and then I jacked up the front of the car!
