Inner Tie Rod Replacement

Hi all,

Today I've been wrestling with my Puma trying to remove the inner tie rod as there is a lot of play in the ball joint.

I have a replacement one here from Ford, part number 1044014.

The one on the car does not have any notches for a spanner like the replacement does. I cannot get it off the car. I've tried vice grips but it won't budge. Last time I did an inner tie rod was on my BMW and it was very easy. 32mm spanner. Jobs a good un.

Any advice on this would be much appreciated.

Managed to sort this today using a special tool. I plan on making a 'how to' guide for this job as I didn't see one here or on Ford TIS.
