My puma had an after market knob when I got it

managed to pick up an original from a car down the breakers for £3 yesterday so polished it up today.

I cut the head of a bolt that was the correct thread for the gear knob and put it in the drill
Then used various grades of wet and dry wrapped round a sponge sanding block in the vice and span the my knob on it. I finished it with a cutting compound and paint.

My knob in all its glory .

And my dirty old Japanese knob, having a leathery knob has its good points it doesn't get as cold

I had three women handling my knob this morning and talking about it

I hope some good will come out of it

It has taken me a while to check out your knobs, the work computer blocked it so had it wait until I am home!
It was worth it!
And would nail varnish work to colour it?

I used nail varnish on the aftermarket one that was in when I brought but it was only on for a few weeks till I chucked it up the garden in rage.
It was held on by grub screws and kept spinning as I changed gear so I put the leather one of my dads Subaru on.
