Seen a 2nd hand catback stainless exhaust system for sale local to me for £55. Looks a bit too mucky to be stainless but might just need a good clean.
Undecided on whether to buy it or not :|
Should probably spend the money on some bits I need for the RS or save it into one of my two funds:
House
New van and kart

I could but I think that drastically increases my chances of buying it and I'm trying to be good

after seeing another transit sport, I think I can go without the exhaust

got the urge to do some more bits to the car now as I'm starting to grow fond of it.
Been busy working on my ramshackle rally car lately, so here it is atm with only a few bits left to finish off

moving house soon, then the tax and insurance is due on the RS along with the insurance on this so won't be much done in the next few months. GF is going away for 3 weeks at the end of october/start november so this will probably be a good time to get most jobs done as it will pass the time and I will also have use of her ka for daily duties

Thunderbird 2 is now finished and we leave on thursday

puma progress has been almost non-existent as a result but I've got my plans near enough finalised.
few boring bits first
cleaner looking tax disc

also had some 'aero' wipers arrived in the post today. all 3 for £6.55 posted

THE PLAN - only time will tell how far I get
A good clean and T-cut to get all the minor scratches out
Sort the rear arch and any other little rust bubbles
Polybush all round
Smooth bootlid and front plate recess
New exhaust
Coilovers
Rear axle spacers
Millenium Recaro interior

after toying with the idea of buying a bmw to go drifting with, I'm determined to stick with the puma, or at least get it into a state where it will sell for more.
Should have a load of goodies coming next week

UPDATE TIME

Progress on this (as well as everything else in my life) was kind of halted a few weeks ago when a woman pulled out from her driveway infront of me in my pride and joy RS :'(

The puma tried to cheer me up with some boobs

I bought a set of front arms with near enough brand new polybushes already fitted which will save me a job of trying to fit them myself  the guy I got them off was also supposed to be sorting me out with a polybushed rear beam too but rounded the bolts when trying to remove it from his car so I will need to order some and fit them at some point.
Saw how nice the car could look lowered after a trip to b&q for loft insulation and boards

Had some new tyres fitted today as the car came with odd ones (newish tyres on the right and older ones on the left  ). Went for Uni rainsports as they were one of the cheaper tyres out there but come with an a rating for wet weather grip. Ideal for the coming winter and the fact this is a commuter so isn't searching for grip on the way to work lol

I noticed when the car was inside from the wind that the exhaust was starting to blow slightly, so armed with my trick learnt from wheeler dealers, I discovered the top of the backbox to be the location of the leak. Time for a hoffman race system I think as for the price they are it'd be daft just to do the backbox and wait a few months for the centre section to break

also added another touch for winter to stop my nob getting cold in the mornings and after work

Then today, I intended to give the car the service it needed and fit the ST150 brakes with the pink braided brake lines

Drained the oil no problem, the filter took a bit of gentle persuasion but came free without a hammer.
Then realised I'd been sent the wrong filter :-(

The company are sending me a new one but what a pain in the hole.

Fuel filter was a bit fiddly to get out but easier than I expected. Was defo needed

Wasn't able to do the spark plugs as the last monkey to have worked on the car has rounded a couple of the cam cover bolts. Any tips on how to remove these? Tried the usual tricks but the bolts are quite soft

After all that I was in no mood to attempt the brakes so that is a job for next weekend potentially. If not I'll fit them with the next exhaust that I am picking up shortly

I had the same problem and I solved it by drilling two rounded screws away with power drill. Maybe not the best solution but quick and cheap. And there was still so many screws left that the cam cover still sits tightly. Just make sure that the metallic burr (?) which the power drill makes, wont go anywhere like in alternator.

it's broken :'(
at least it waited til the drift car was finished.

My own fault as after seeing a minor leak from the camcover gasket, I foolishly thought it'd wait til next month. Went out today and car suddenly started running rough as anything, then cut out and was a nightmare starting and smokey.

Limped home and got the rocker cover off (after sorting out the rounded bolts) and noticed plugs 3 and 4 were very oily from where I assume the gasket has let go and oil seeped into the plugs, causing the rough running and smoke.
Know what I'm doing this coming easter weekend

the engine cover was sized on mine also, i tried easy outs, drilling, then got some star shaped ends which go onto a ratchet hammered each one in tight they came of easy then now the allen key heads have become star. But for now as im a bike repairer used the allen key bolts which are slightly smaller but the allen key head is 6mm so stronger, i will get some proper puma ones back someday but these will do for now!

 :pose: :eek:k:
