There can't be many one original owner Puma's that come up for for sale. My wife bought her Puma brand new in January 2001 and it's been on the road ever since. It's been very well looked after and has completed 138k utterly reliable miles.
A new company car is going to push it out. We'd love to keep it and restore it as new but no time or space to do it. Sad to see it go after nearly 16 years.
Everything works apart from the heater valve which has just stuck this week (it's second heater valve) (it's stuck on - luckily). It still drives wonderfully and is in use daily.
Current MOT till January 22nd 2017 - drive it away - from Washington, Tyne and Wear
Powerflex (yes £70 a pair) rear suspension bushes with new Ford bolts and new petrol tank fitted Jan 16 (approx 7k ago). Also new rear shoes.
New offside rear wheel bearing August 16
New front off side brake caliper September 15 (£95 )
4 x new tyres are less than a year old (one tyre might not pass next mot as it has a nick on sidewall)
New clutch and 2nd cam belt and water pump at just over 110k
All original paint, a few small areas have been touched up - see photos
All sorts of running gear, shocks, suspension joints, battery you name it has been replaced as and when needed over the years.
The engine has been regularly serviced and even at almost 138k is as sweet as a nut. Good clean alloys with only one showing any signs of kerbing.
Bad bits, usual rotten arches have been bodged and would require doing properly. The near side jacking point and sill area will require welding before the next mot. Small chip on windscreen below site line - has passed several mot's. Just noticed a small blow from the back box.
£200 - love to see someone take it on as a project, but I'd understand those new bits like the tank, Powerflex bushings, wheels and tyres might make it a tempting source of spares. Any marks or drips on the tarmac in the photo don't belong to it.
