Hi

As well as other problems with my puma (over revving and lack of power) I've noticed today as I go around a roundabout the car dies as if its run out of petrol... As soon as I straighten back up it kicks back in... Any ideas why it does this??? Cheers for your help!

8) Cheers for reply mate..
Where's the power steering switch? As its done this since engine was fitted (fitted in my mk5 fez) now you mention it I don't think there's anything going to anywhere on my powersteering system! Can you tell me where the switch is located and what colour are the wires? That would be great help! Cheers!

The power steering switch is on the drivers side behind the radiator, this is a common cause of over revving or stalling probs.

You have to look really close for any broken wires (there are two) as they can look like they are attached but are broken inside the case

No the above is stricly in relation to the over revving.

Perhaps you have a fuel filter problem causing it to run lean and to cut out on roundabouts.

Maybe an airleak problem making it run lean or a problem with the fuel vapour recirculation valve thingymabob on the n/s bulkhead

Would that vapour thing be called a map sensor?? Like a black box?... And I put a new fuel filter on last week... And thanks again for your help mate!

Did you have the problem before you changed the filter? maybe its fitted the wrong way round?

That gizmo thingmabobs called
http://www.projectpuma.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=16375&hilit=evap+system" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

maybe yours isnt even connected if youve had an engine swap from a fiesta

Also regarding the over revving have you checked that the electrical switch on the top of the clutch pedal is in place?

Yes the problem was there before I changed the filter, I only changed that filter because it was cheap and I was doing an oil and filter change anyway.... Also if tha gizmo was gone wouldn't it show up on my code reader?? As the only thing coming up is p0171 which means system lean.

And yeh my clutch pedal switch is there and installed properly...

But it mentions somthing on that link you sent me about a fuel filler cap! And I don't have one! Lol could this be the answer to all my problems!?? Cheers and thanks allot for all your help!!

Sorry I have no idea if it would show up on a code reader. Maybe your filler cap is part of the problem its got to be worth a try.
