Anyone have the issue when replacing a rear suspension strut that the thread in the weld nut appears to have stripped (eye type)? And what did they do about it?

The torque is pretty high and those weld nuts not the strongest after being heat affected by welding presumably.

Looking at getting a longer bolt and putting a new nut on after the weld nut but not sure it's going to fit to be honest, quite a small space inside the rear beam trailing box section.

And I'm not sure a helicoil is going to work too well as it's taking a fair bit of material out the centre of the nut (but not much experience in using them). Can't see how I could remove the nut either given it's location.

Any ideas or past problem solving?
