Remote key stopped working

After the Puma spent six weeks hibernating in the lockup I found the remote would not unlock the car, but she unlocked manually and started perfectly.

I have just replaced the battery in the remote key but she still will not respond to the remote. The battery that I removed was a CR2032 and I replaced with a CR2025 which is supposed to be an acceptable alternative.

Has anyone any suggestion as to what could be wrong, please ?

I was told that the 2032 is the only one you should use.

Unless I'm mistaken, which could certainly be possible, the 2032 denotes the dimensions of the battery. It is 20mm across and 3.2mm thick. So if you used a 2025 then it is only 2.5mm thick and far too small to connect to the terminals in the key properly.

Try the right battery and then attempt the reprogramming.
