Ok guys here goes have now changed the rocker cover gasket and that leak is now fixed but there is another leak which is the main leak I was looking for, I will do my best to explain.

Oil is now dripping down from under the timing belt inner cover. I have removed the timing belt cover and cannot see any oil inside it. So I think good to assume that the cam shaft seals are ok.
The oil is tracking down somewhere and dripping from just behind the covers. My best guess now is the head gasket is leaking but dont understand why im not loosing water or have any water in the oil also why is it leaking when not being driven.

Im a bit lost now peoples any help would be great.

no mate but put a smear of gasket sealer over both sides cover and cam shaft half moons if thats what you mean

aftermarket but put gasket sealer on both sides of seal and surely this would only leak once the engine is running not when left idle.

only put a thin bead along where the gasket fits into the rocker cover, not where the gasket is going to seal against the head, and a smear of mastic on the half moons and where a little bit where the curve then becomes straight at the timing belt end,and then only tighten hand tight starting from the middle and then working your way to the outside, let it settle then just check all the bolts again.

There's an engine assembly bung behind the cam cover that works it's way loose and leaks oil just as your describing, I had it myself and I just removed it and put some decent oil resistant silicone sealer on its threads and tightened it back up

I had this issue with my puma, oil seemed to be leaking down where the manifold was and the cam belt cover.
Turned out i had to buy a second hand cam cover as mine was warped and a genuine ford gasket with some sealant, non ford gaskets dont work from my experience.

I know most people don't have much luck with after market cam cover gaskets, but I've used then on the escort 1.8 I have now and also on a omega 2.6 v6 and haven't had any leaks with either engines, and both fitted the same way..

I used a motor factors one on mine and it leaked, so bought a ford one and problem solved

Got this on mine after a month or so, dripping off the sump bolt at the back of the engine. Nipped the cover up but it does appear to drip somewhere down the back of the engine near the pulleys and end up there. Aftermarket gasket. Didn't help that the torque was uneven from the guy who did the cambelt, but suppose it was only a matter of time!
