Looking at service kits on ebay. Prices range from £13.50 to £80. Is this example a load of cheap trash? Any suggestions on good do it yourself kits online that won't break the bank?

That oil filter in your link looks like the usual short one. The Puma has one that is double that height, i.e. twice as much filtering going on.

I got the right Ford OEM oil filter and it was only seven quid.
