Steering wheel not turning smoothly, feels sticky.

I know this might sound a bit strange but sometimes when turning round a corner on a country lane or manouvering the steering wheel seems sticky like catching on the plastic housing around the steering wheel or the wheels. it's hard to explain basically the wheel doesnt feel right when turning. Has anyone else had simmilar problem?

If it sounds "graunchy" then it could be the spring. Read this to see if it's similar with a possible fix :

Seems like something like this certainly will have a look and check it out so basically justt take hosing off. I assume it just unclips?

ive took the housing off cant really see the spring but can see the steering wheel turning and have sprayed wd40 where there is a possible friction problem. Hope this solves the problem. hasnt made much of a difference so far

Have you checked the power steering oil level?
