Right, I'm asking this on behalf on a mate...honestly :? (Zara will confirm)

He rang me last night and asked me about the cambelt. Now I thought in a Sport/Sreet Ka the 1.6 engine is the same as what's in the Puma/Focus/Zetec S, etc. So the cambelt is a normal rubber belt that needs changing every 10 yrs/100k miles.

However, he reckons it's got a chain belt...

Any ideas?

TIA!

Andy

The 1.6 Duratec is chain driven.

I think most Duratecs are chain driven.

But i'm not sure of it's service schedule, whether it just needs a tighten etc.

N.b. From memory the Puma 1.6 is a Zetec not a Duratec.

The "Rocam" engine is based upon the "Sigma" engine, but with a number of alterations, such as iron block, 8v head, and timing chain.

Don't Ford call everytihng either Duratec or Duratorq these days, including the Zetec-SE engines in the new Fiesta and Focus?
