Usual 6006e issues Will Sony unit fit?

Hello All

My new Puma came with a 6006e cd disc changer which has always been broken. Had the e3 error code and once taken out and looked inside I found a broken disc carrier and the mechanism was not locking into the centre of the CD when one was inserted. I'd like to get it replaced as fixing it appears to be a tricky job. Should I get another 6006e unit or are their other disc changer units that will fit in the dash. Looking at the units manual I noticed a Sony 6 CD changer unit also mentioned but I don't know the size of it or whether it's compatible or the model name to search for it.

edit: had a quick search, Sony unit might be Mk3 Mondeo's only?

The Sony is fitted to later Fords and is a fair bit larger than the old units so it won't fit

Thanks. Think i'll look at the single CD unit as there easier and cheaper to get hold of and hopefully more reliable
