How are the values of racing Pumas looking?

Also what's happened to all of the replicas? I remember there used to be loads of them kicking around.

FRP 254 sold a few weeks ago at auction for £9.5k , another one sold at Historics at Brooklands on 10/05/18 for £9.1 k, both rather cheap in my opinion! The one on Saturday was estimated £ 10 - 14 k and really looked the part and had good history too, I feel a bit sad for the owner who got such a s- -t price for it ! It is so difficult to get a guide on the prices and at auction it’s a bit risky and just your luck on the day ! Various ‘experts’ are predicting a bit of a jump in the next year but who knows !

Robert G : FRP 307

There's one on PH at the minute from Brooklands for 10k, is that the same one which sold on the weekend?

It all depends on condition really as if it needs brakes, cambelt, bodywork etc. if it’s had that done it will be strong money. If it’s not, £9-10k is about right

Hi
Were those prices the hemmer price or including all the fees.
More depressing if it was.
As XAF correctly states the top cars make top money. The market will polarise.
Kind regards Ian

I believe the prices stated are the total ! There are so many possible reasons for the low prices as XAF has correctly stated, we also don’t know the ‘other’ history of the cars, sometimes the auction descriptions only ‘talk up’ the good points ! These 2 cars look and sound very genuine but !!! , you never know. There may just have been a lack of interest in the cars on these days, simple as that ! For example, a Renault 5 GT Turbo from the 70’s in need of restoration sold for over £50k at Silverstone on Saturday !! Madness!

Regards,

Robert G

I see FRP 109 for sale at Morris Leslie auctions tomorrow 18/08/18. Nice looking car with history, looks like a low estimate to me £7 - 8 k.

FRP 109 sold for £8828 on Sat.18th. Looks like somebody got a bargain judging by the details given. You never know though, mine looked exactly like it when I bought it ( except for the white wheels ! ) and it’s in pieces now getting surgery. Never judge an FRP by its pretty face 😀

Nice FRP on Pistonheads, No.462, just under £12k, low mileage and it’s had the bad bits done by Whiteland restorations. Has to be a snip !

Point taken mate, know what you mean. There is under seal and underbody protection, 2 different things ! I only read the ad on Pistonheads. My main issue was the bit about motorsport history which would put me off !
