Hub Removal

Post by alexwilliams840 » Sun Jul 07, 2013 5:10 pm

As title, how do you remove the hub? I've no clue and need it doing as my restoration puma has knackered threads (beyond saving)

thanks

Front or back?

Either way undo big nut in middle and use a puller or if you are lucky give it a whack

Front, is it that simple? A hammer wouldn't budge it

To remove the hub from the knuckle you need a press/puller and you will then need a press to press the hub back in to the knuckle and new bearing.

is it the threads on the wheel studs that are knackered? And if so, can you just change the studs, rather than the hub?

Hub Removal

Post by Mk02 » Wed Jan 23, 2019 5:22 pm

Anyone reading this looking to remove hubs, get a hub puller! I've just spent 6 hours trying without one and, well em, i'm going to buy one tomorrow! And a bearing puller... so much for saving a few quid :)
