I'd probably take you up on that Frank.... Not too sure I'm OK to drive it though as the latest mot is a fail. Yes the last valid one is 13th May but doesnt the failure over write that?
Reluctant spares or repair sale due to cost of MOT simply too high to warrant full repairs - estimated at £900, car cost me that around June last year.
Would be a great car to break down or actually restore if someone had the love to do so.
Runs absolutely fine, if it weren't for the MOT...
So the squeak is coming and going, wd40 being a patch fix for now... I'm totally new to this but looks like the top mount bearings are pretty cheap to replace. However how easy it is to replace just these parts? Guides and videos I've seen point to removing the whole fork... Can I not just undo...
Great guide and that did the job!
Managed to WD40 the top mount rubber bush and the squeak has disappeared.
I suspect it will come back though as the WD40 will really only be a temporary fix (happy to be corrected here).
Is it save to inject grease into these bushings or should it be something...
So looking at that I just need to remove the cover in the engine bay to expose the top mounts?
I guess from there I can at least wd40 them to diagnose the problem right?
Just invested in Puma and absolutely loving it! However its developed a bit of a squeak coming from the front left side which is a tad annoying.
I'm certainly no mechanical expert and could do with some advice, I'm aware it could be the suspension bushes wearing out or need re greasing which...
First time Puma owner here, loving it so far!
It's a 99 reg 1.7, but it didn't come with a key fob... but did come with two keys.
Should I have a fob for remote locking/unlocking? Not a big deal or anything just curious.
