Just invested in Puma and absolutely loving it! However its developed a bit of a squeak coming from the front left side which is a tad annoying.
I'm certainly no mechanical expert and could do with some advice, I'm aware it could be the suspension bushes wearing out or need re greasing which I've got no major problem doing myself. However after some reading it also seems it could be the top mount but having never done anything like this before I don't want to screw it up!
How difficult is it to remove or at least regrease the top mounts at the front? The squeaking definitely sounds like its closer to the top of the shocks than the bottom having had a good listen and poke around this afternoon.

First part of this post shows how to remove the strut, to get at the top mount:

So looking at that I just need to remove the cover in the engine bay to expose the top mounts?
I guess from there I can at least wd40 them to diagnose the problem right?

Great guide and that did the job!
Managed to WD40 the top mount rubber bush and the squeak has disappeared.

I suspect it will come back though as the WD40 will really only be a temporary fix (happy to be corrected here).

Is it save to inject grease into these bushings or should it be something I should replace?
If I do need to replace it... can this be done without dis-assembling the whole shock as I think that guide details?

So the squeak is coming and going, wd40 being a patch fix for now... I'm totally new to this but looks like the top mount bearings are pretty cheap to replace. However how easy it is to replace just these parts? Guides and videos I've seen point to removing the whole fork... Can I not just undo the top cover and replace the bearing from within the engine bay? Or is the whole suspension going to fall apart....

Novice here! Be gentle!

hello mate.
You`ll need to remove the suspension leg to get to the top-mount.
Don`t worry, is quite easy and the suspension leg stays in one piece as you undo the top nut.
The top-mount just sits on top on the leg.
The WD40 idea to isolate the problem is a good idea
Good luckwith your fix..
