The clutch may just need bleeding. There should be a nipple on the bell housing (strange sentence). as for the engine itself it could be any number of things...you got any more details on the engines (old and new) and why why you changed?

Make sure the pretensioners are the same type originally fitted; there are at least a couple of types. When I fitted the millie recaros I had to keep the original pretensioners even though they had the same plug and hadnt been detonated the airbag light came on.

Does anyone think I the car would be worth more if it was all completely standard? The replacement engine is paid for and being picked up this week :ok:

Sounds like a MAF issue; check it is plugged properly and connections are clean. Also do you know when the last time the plugs were changed? Might be worth taking one out to check the condition. Could also be lambda sensor...sorry very vague reply :grin: Alex
