    FRP info

Cheers, good to know that kids seats will fit ok. Budget is kind of dependent on what I get for my car but will hopefully be enough for a nice one. Only one local at the minute is up for 4.2k, but looks like it needs a decent amount of paint. Based on what i paid to sort similar issues on my...

    FRP info

Great thanks! Need to shift my current car, but would guess 5-6k budget. Kind of used to expensive maintenance already - however would look to get the car checked over by somebody who knows what they are looking at to a avoid the big bills.. Good to know a child seat will fit, will have to look...

    FRP info

Hi all, looking to swap my cars around in the next few months and a frp is currently high on my list and have a few questions; - What kind of cash would a really clean, say sub 70k mile frp go for nowadays? - Although i'd not be be buying as any kind of investment, if rather not lose too much...

    Splutter/Misfire

Bit of an update. Missus was driving the car and it dropped a cylinder completely combined with engine warning light. She called out RAC who said one of the plug leads had snapped completely. So bught a set of plugs and leads from halfords and went to replace. First problem is that the plugs are...

    Advice on Selling

Going to have to sell the puma in the coming months as expecting our first child, and the missus wants something with 4 doors. Really after a bit of advice on a couple of things. The clutch has intermittantly slipped since we bought the car. Most of the time its absolutely fine, but every now...

    Splutter/Misfire

My puma (1.7) has just developed a bit of a splutter/misfire at low revs. Its only really noticable when you bog the car down in a low gear and then try to accelerate. Are there any likely culprits before I start replacing the usual plugs, leads etc? Cheers!

    Heated screen

Heated screen on the puma doesn't work, light comes on on the button but screen doesn't demist. Is there anything obvious to check or is the screen just knackered?

    Working out mpg

This was the first week I've kept track of miles and got 230 to a full tank, this was around the doors with no real runs anywhere. Had thought this was pretty poor and as the car has the odd whiff of petrol was mebs down to a leak. However, by the sound of things above seems to be about normal..

    Water pump

Also crossed my mind about cocking up the original price and trying to make up the difference but who knows. Have spoke to the guy and reckons it's a pain as you have to remove the alternator, so the bulk of the cost is labour. To be fair he did day he would try and cut some cost off so will...

    Water pump

Seems ott to me as well. It's 160 for labour and parts for water pump and 170 for cambelt, 330 total.

    Water pump

Got the puma in this weekend to get the timing belt done and have been quoted 170 for the job including parts which I thought was reasonable enough. Garage have just been on the phone saying the water pump is knackered which I expected. Problem is they are now saying that it's going to be...

    HCV query

I have also just fitted a new hcv from eBay and agree the fit of the electrical connector is very poor. Fitted the metal clip as per oem but expecting it to drop off at some point. My question on this now it's fitted I do have both hot and cold, but it seems a very slow transition to hot from...

    Dodgy clutch

Cheers, fingers crossed for moisture on the plate then. Just looked into it and doesn't look too pricey for a clutch if it is knackered, so not great but no the a disaster if it is gone.

    Dodgy clutch

Just picked up my puma today and think I might have a problem with the clutch. Seemed fine on test drive, however brought it home and left it for a few hours and when I went out again it seemed to be slipping when I bogged it down in a high gear. Bizarre thing is this seemed to clear after a few...
