The Other Half Wants a Puma

Made the mistake of letting her indoors have a go behind the wheel of MY puma. After 10 minutes it became quite clear a second kat will be required as soon as funds allow. Mind you she will need seat protector so the dog go too. :-D

    Air Con Maintenance

Ford recommend at least 30min per month. Don't know what Puma aircon is like but using the aircon on my old 406 increased fuel consumption by about 10%.

    Prop Or Spokes????

I was thinking about putting spokes on mine, coz I like the look. But a few weeks back I was stuck in a jam on the M25 car park, looking around me there were spokes on everything, even white van man had some on his. Decided to avoid the crowd and stick with the props.

    Brake upgrade

I was thinking in terms of increasing the likelihood of the back-end switching on you if you are unfortunate enough not to be able to brake in a straight line.

    Air Con Maintenance

Have been skimming through my Owners manual having just picked it up from ebay. Noticed in the Maintenance and Care section that ford recommend that the air con is run for at least half an hour per month, does anyone know why?

    Brake upgrade

Apologies if this is a stupid question or has been answered on another thread but here goes anyway. What effect does upgrading front brake callipers/discs have on brake balance front vs rear ?

    12 Source and Earth

Even tho' normal current draw may be small, still include (suitably small ) fuses, they're there to protect your wiring in the event of a fault, better a fuse blowing than a wiring fire

I never knew Pumas did this...

    8) Didn't know that either, wish I'd seen this last night, just driven 6 hours trough showers and spray with wipers being too fast (normal setting) or too slow (intermittent) damned irritating.

    12 Source and Earth

Probably not a good strategy, you could end up with a fuse that is too big for the job and not be adequately protected against a fault in the neons. You can pick up a multimeter for 6.99 at Maplin http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=37279" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false...

    12 Source and Earth

Shouldn't that be divide by 14.4v, Power = volts * current Safer to divide by12 as battery and alternator voltage will fall when under load (e.g. headlights on, screen heaters on etc etc)

Anybody have problems contacting Adrian Flux by phone

I got a quote from Adrian Flux via web/email earlier in the week. Tried to call them twice to discuss the quote. I got put in a queue for an underwriter, where I stayed until the call timed out on both occasions. OK, I thought, I'll try the call back service, they never called me back. I will...

    Pick up new Puma tomorrow

The garage (Ford Dealers in Launceston, Cornwall (Sprys)) have loaned me Focus 'til Saturday as I have to drive up to Suffolk at 5 am tomorrow, returning around 11pm Friday. So although I am disappointed I couldn't collect the Puma today, Sprys have done all they could to help me out. Just hope...
