It sure does. Hopefully mine will look something similar to that soon, the spoiler may take a while but when I think about all of the modifications I'm looking forward to the most, the FRP bodykit, metallic respray and centre exit exhaust are going to be amazing!

I'm extremely interested to see pics of this build as I had to make a fair few custom parts and mods to get this engine to fit and work in the way I think it should.

And you won't get any power down unless you get a semi slick tyre in my experience. I only have 288 hub hp and wheel spinning everywhere just isn't my idea of fun anymore - the novelty wears off quite quickly and it becomes quite irritating instead!

There was a yellow wide bodied puma knocking around a couple of years ago. Not the yellow rally shell that was on ebay a few months back, but a millie with FRP arches... I found the project thread, but the links to the photos are dead, and it got sold as spares or repair after some damage unfortunately. Shame, as it was looking to be turning into a nice car.

There's also an epic S1600 beast that was featured in FastFord about 6 months back. Proper tarmac rally set up, i can't remember what engine exactly but it's some 2.0 turbo i'm sure. But yeah i thought i'd just chip in with that.

Well I'm not personally doing the work but I will make sure I get updates as regular as possible as I want to know whats been going on and how its all been done.

Also, we are going with Yokohama AD08R tires and am going to be running a Life F88 ecu so should be able to make full use of property traction control and launch control. This isn't going to be no silly little toy boy job thats been put together in a hurry for just big power figures, I want a proper car that I can drive.

Well not to worry guys because this is one car that won't be being sold for spares. I intend to keep it in the family as long as possible, we aren't spending all this money on something to get rid of it in a couple of years. I'm going to have lots of work done to it and enjoy for a few years whilst I can and then when I get too old, my son will take over and continue any works on it.

I'll have to have a look up of that S1600 puma, I was considering that bodykit at one point but the work was too time consuming, too involved and too expensive for me currently. I would be interested in RWD or 4WD at some point though.

Slight detour - what is the difference between the S1600 body and the FRP body? I thought it was just the spoiler.

Looking great there bud! I may use black as the base colour and then when I eventually get the FRP kit, have it wrapped in a different colour. I like the stealth look black has but also like white or red which are both quite rare.

I did enquire about a S1600 kit, I cant remembet the exact price, but it was fairly expensive.

EDIT: By MDV Specialist Engineering.

Front Bumper £420 + vat
Front Fender RH £215 + vat
Front Fender LH £215 + vat
Rear Bumper £390 + vat
Rear Quarter RH £215 + vat
Rear Quarter LH £215 + vat
Front Splitter £330 + vat
Rear Wing £450 + vat
Roof Vent Duct £145 + vat

Total £2595 + vat

I think that is without fitting and paint.

Regards,

Puma555.

So, when do you think you will start building your project then? Looking forward to seeing a thread pop up on here!

I have also enquired at MDV as they are only down the road from me but that price was too expensive for me and you also have to then make changes to the suspension and track width etc. Thats what made me decide on the FRP kit instead.

So I had a message from Chris yesterday to tell me the inlet plenum has arrived from Jenvey and oh my, what a thing of beauty she is

Cannot wait to see this in the engine bay. Turbo should be here soon, build commencing again over the coming few weeks.

I bet you do. I would be getting no sleep at all if I was doing the same. The anticipation must be overwhelming. ..

Well I have to try and contain my excitement for another 6 weeks or so until its done but then as soon as it is finished, you will all know about it!

Mate I might even take a cheap flight over from Ireland once its complete just to take a gander at it if that's ok with you...
