I'm gonna have a few more track days @ blyton and my local airfield that I hire and see how I get on before I change again, prob will just change wheels to get the 300mm to fit.

Out of curiosity, how much does it cost to hire an airfield?! Do you group together with others, or run events of some sort? Sounds like a good idea though!
I hire my local airfield that mintex use as there proving ground I usually get a few people together to split the cost and it works out cheaper than a tank of fuel. I don't hold events I just go there to test upgrades before I take the car to track days, it is a good airfield though with 2 runways that you can go flat out on (I've had 130 on the clock with a tail wind) it makes a good circuit and its really handy.
I really want to do exactly what you're doing at the moment. Dirt cheap 1.7, strip out, a few choice niceties, enjoy. I'd want Melina Blue or Panther Black too, looks really nice. Is it staying road legal?
It would be road legal if I put it through mot & taxed it. I am planning to get it back on the road but at the moment I'm quite happy with just going to tracks and giving it a boot full then upgrading it for the next event.
I said from the start I am going to do it on a budget and I have stuck to that so won't be going mad with upgrades just keeping it simple, affordable and most of all fun
Got round to fitting the braided lines today and give her a quick wash and starting to look at track days again think I might try Elvington as its the closest any been there before?
Thanks mate learnt as lot looking your thread , with track days in mind I've downloaded Harry's lap timer app for iPhone so I can record videos and keep as record of lap times, really impressed with it and I will load a video on YouTube later highley recommend it to anyone.
i just got rid of the bottom half, you'll need the top half of the frame to keep the bumper in place, if you remove the lot theres no mounting points for the bumper, you just need the top 2 bolt mounts and the 2 that pop in on the side
Cheers guys
As above but under the red line is there is another two mounts I just simply cut around these coz I didn't want to take then off to find I needed to keep them on. I also bonded around the cut using tec7 just to make sure it stays nice and rigid, if u look at pumajay project thread there is a more detailed guide.
