Hi all,

I’m in the process of planning in the future for The cambelt change and my local independent garage has quoted me around £540 which I was rather shocked with.
Ive used the garage for many years and have full trust but is this price reflective of what is required? I must admit it looks a fairly big job and the water pump is obviously not part of this service.

My second query is the last time the belt was changed was in 2016 however the car has done less than 10k since. The mileage as it stands is around 95k. Would you recommend the belt being replaced sooner than later or as it’s done less than 10k since the last time can this last any longer?

Cheers

From what I gather, many garages including Ford main dealers get it wrong. After being ripped off by a local "Ford" specialist, I've booked my decent Puma in with Chris Allison (https://allisonautomotive.co.uk/) who is a Puma specialist, he's near Nottingham. Also recommended are Pumashack in Essex and a garage near Alton in Hampshire, the owner has his own Puma. NOTE I have not experienced any of these 3, just ones that have been recommended to me.
I'm sure that.there are other places that will be recommended.
